Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Empower Independence! Who We Are: We are more than a facility; we are a dedicated team of advocates and companions. At Precious Minds II, we believe that requiring assistance shouldn't mean losing one's independence or joy. What We Do: We provide a sanctuary where dignity is the standard, not the goal. By joining our team, you aren't just a staff member—you are the guardian of someone’s quality of life, helping our residents live with the respect and comfort they deserve every single day. Location: Bloomfield Hills, MI Pay: $18 – $20.00 per hour (Based on experience and OCHN Training) Shift Type: FULL TIME, PART TIME, WEEKENDS are fun! NIGHTS are easier because most of the residents are sleeping. Are you a coach at heart? We aren't looking for someone to just "do things" for our residents; we are looking for someone to teach them how to do things for themselves. At Precious Minds, we believe that every individual deserves the dignity of independence. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you aren’t just a caregiver—you are a mentor, an advocate, and a bridge to the community. What You’ll Actually Be Doing: 1. Skill Building: You’ll help residents master the "basics" that lead to a big life—teaching money management, social skills, and job readiness. 2. Community Connection: You won't be stuck inside. You’ll provide transportation and support for social outings, medical appointments, and volunteer opportunities. These outings are fun such as the pool club, Movies, lake picknicks, pickle ball, library, art and walks! 3. Daily Living Support: You’ll assist with personal hygiene, meal prep, and keeping a clean home, always with the goal of involving the resident in the process. 4. Advocacy: You are the voice for those you support, ensuring their needs are heard and their rights are respected in the community. 5. Health Oversight: You’ll handle medication and rights administration training (we provide training certification!) and monitor overall well-being. What You Need to Bring: The Basics: You must be 18+ years old with a High School Diploma or GED. Certain disabilities can be accommodated for if they do not infringe on the residents care. A Clean Slate: Ability to pass a comprehensive background check. Drug AND Alcohol Free Workplace. Wheels: A valid driver’s license and a reliable way to get to work (community integration is a huge part of the job! You will drive our vehicle). The Right Vibe: You are patient, energetic, and believe that people with developmental disabilities should live their lives to the fullest. Why Join Us? Competitive Michigan Pay: We offer a starting rate that reflects the importance of your work. Career Growth: This is a perfect stepping stone for those interested in healthcare, social work, or education. Meaningful Impact: You will see the direct result of your coaching when a resident learns a new skill because of you. Ready to make a difference? Call or Email to apply today and help someone lead their best, most independent life. If this is YOU lets work together!
Hear directly from caregivers and staff members about the meaningful work and supportive culture they've found at Precious Minds.
Working at Precious Minds has been incredibly rewarding. I get to make a real difference in residents' lives every day, and the team truly cares about each other. The support and training I've received have helped me grow both professionally and personally.

Maria Gonzalez
Residential Caregiver
I appreciate how Precious Minds values the dignity of every resident. The training is thorough, management listens to our feedback, and there's genuine respect between staff members. It's rare to find a place where the work actually matches the values they claim to have.

James Thompson
Care Coordinator
What stands out most is how the organization genuinely cares about staff wellbeing, not just resident care. My manager takes time to check in, there are opportunities to learn and advance, and you feel like your work actually matters. That makes all the difference.

Aisha Johnson
Residential Caregiver
I started here without any prior experience in adult foster care, but Precious Minds invested in my training and development. Two years later, I'm confident in my role and proud of the relationships I've built with residents. This place helped me find my calling.

David Lee
Residential Caregiver
The residents here receive exceptional care because the team is committed and supported. Management trusts us to do our job well and backs that up with resources and respect. That foundation makes it possible to provide the kind of care these residents truly deserve.
